Tampa Jewish Family Services is pleased to share a sampling of the many success stories that result from our agency’s work:
Melissa, a single mother with two daughters – Rachel and Leah, ages seven and 11 – was just laid off. She worked for more than 10 years at a major supermarket chain. She quickly developed her resume to distribute throughout the community. Eight months later, Melissa was still unemployed. She went through 90% of her savings and all of her 401K reserves. Five months later her home was foreclosed upon. She and her daughters were on the street. Tampa Jewish Family Services provided food and counseling, and a referral for shelter. When Melissa regained employment, the agency assisted her by providing a down payment and rental assistance on a new place to live. We continue to work with her and her family on budget management. Melissa is now doing well.
