Mindy finally did it. She moved out of her boyfriend’s home. She had had enough. He wasn’t physically abusive; he was mentally abusive to both her and her six-year-old son. Mindy contacted TJFS for help. We immediately connected her with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. They assisted by helping Mindy obtain a restraining order against the boyfriend, and provided shelter. TJFS helped her with the down payment on a new apartment, food and counseling. Mindy is doing great. She and her son visit our office weekly for counseling sessions and to pick-up food, on occasion. Mindy says, “You guys saved my family’s life. We are in a much better place today, thanks to Tampa Jewish Family Services.”
